The Bluffton High School academic banquet will be held on Tuesday, March 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the middle school cafetorium. This banquet is held to honor students with a grade point average of of 3.50 and higher. This year there are 23 sophomores, 53 juniors and 30 seniors will be honored.
The Inn at ONU presents a "Celebration of Spring" Afternoon Tea fom 3:30 to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 21. Persons attending will enjoy a selection of teas and an array of spring treats and live music. It's the perfect way to celebrate spring with friends or family - or even hold an office meeting.

When Andy Lamb took Spanish classes for three years at Bluffton High School he had no idea that it would come in so handy later on in life.
Now it has. Lamb, a 2007 BHS grad, left Bluffton last week for a 27-month volunteer assignment in the Peace Corp in Dominican Republic.
“I’m assigned as a community economic advisor for small businesses and entrepreneurs,” he told The Icon, about his Peace Corp position. "I'll work with entrepreneurs in the rural and city areas of the country."
As St. Patrick's Day approaches, the Hancock County Sheriff" Office reminds drivers not to get behind the wheel if they've been drinking.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports over 700 people were killed nationwide in crashes involving a drunk driver during the St. Patrick's Day holiday from 2006 to 2010.
