Wine Trends/The Inn at Ohio Northern University will be offering special wine and food pairings this fall. Dates for the events are as follows:
Saturday, Sept. 11, at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m.
Thursday, Nov. 11, at 6:30 p.m.
Guests will enjoy an evening of wine and gourmet food in a relaxed and beautiful setting. The wine tasting and food pairing event is $40 per person, plus taxes and 20% gratuity. Advance reservation and credit card confirmation is required.
We thought Ohio had exclusive rights to the cardinal as the state bird. Indiana must have the same idea. The Icon spotted this bird in a university parking lot.
There are six caches in all. Each has a prize awaiting the first person to find each cache. Three of the prizes are $10 gift certificates from Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn. Three of the prizes are $10 gift certificates from Common Grounds.
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library group will holds its fall book sale from Sept. 18-24 in conjunction with the library's 75th anniversary. The sale will take place at Bluffton Public Library during regular library hours: Monday through Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Michael Hoblet won the fifth annual BFR benefit 5K Race on Sept. 4. The 60 race participants traveled through Bluffton including the university and part of the Mennonite Memorial Home property..
Mark Brauen (far right) of Bluffton leads the pack at the start of the BFR Labor Day Weekend 5-K Race. The annual event was Saturday morning.
