Jo's parents, Jo, Roger, and Roger's parents

Roger and Charlotte Jo (Reiter) Edwards of Bluffton, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary hosted by their children and grandchildren.
They were married on Aug. 26, 1962, in Mt. Cory. They have five children: Bill, Beckie, Ben, Brian and Beth; 12 grandchildren: Brandon, Kristi, Kayne, R.J., Molly, Noah, Mia, Sam, Jack, Hannah, Anna and Nathan.
Roger and Jo are retired and formerly owned The Edwards Decorating Store, Bluffton. The couple celebrated with family and friends at the Mt. Cory Community Center on Aug. 26.

Go head. Guess how many inches of rain fell in August. Guess again.
According to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer, 6.35 inches of rain fell on the Bluffton-Pandora area in August. That's twice the normal August precipitation, which is 3.43 inches.
Rain was recorded on 10 days in August, and it all fell between the 4th and the 27th. The most rain was 1.54 inches on Aug. 10.
Other than rain, August was pretty normal. The average August 2012 daily temperature was 70.9 degrees. The normal average August daily temperature is 70.5 degrees.

It's 11 months away, but the Bluffton Relay for Life has officially started planning its 2013 event. Next year's Relay is Friday and Saturday, June 21-22 at Salzman Stadium, Bluffton University.

There's no Main Street in small-town America like Bluffton's. Thanks to hundreds and hundreds of blooming petunias, courtsey Stratton's Greenhouses, Bluffton's Main Street resembles a flower garden.

A beautiful summer evening set the tone for Mennonite Memorial Home’s annual “Concert on the Lawn” on Aug. 19.  This year’s concert featured Pantasia, a steel drum from Findlay High School. 

Residents, family members and community members gathered to enjoy the Caribbean sounds brought by Pantasia.  Kids, both young and old, tapped their toes and danced to the upbeat rhythms. 

Reservations are being accepted for three bus trips on the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center schedule in 2012 and 2013.

A Nov. 9 trip "Showtime at Plain City," has an Oct. 15 reservation deadline.
A Nov. 27-Dec. 1 trip "Christmas at Virginia Beach," plus a guided tour of colonial Williamsburg, has a Sept. 20 reservation deadline.
A May 13-17, 2013, trip "Smokey Mountain Entertainer Tour," is also on the calendar.
