Bluffton's geese

This group of Canada geese patrols North Main Street at The Centre and Snider Road. Don't mess with the guy checking out the photographer.

Health care reform is playing an integral part in Blanchard Valley Health System's decision to consider more efficient ways to deliver health care.

During this nationwide reform, health care providers are moving from a fee-for-service reimbursement system that rewards volume and toward a system where providers are rewarded for providing value as defined by higher quality and lower costs.

Bluffton University Research Center grants are helping three Bluffton faculty members pursue scholarly and creative projects in their respective fields this summer.

Recipients of $3,000 stipends and up to $600 for research expenses are Tami Forbes, associate professor of recreation and chair of the health, fitness and sport science department; Dr. Ross Kauffman, assistant professor of public health; and Kate Spike, assistant professor of English.

ICON:

Thank you Icon for allowing me to post a few days ago about my big missing tire, as ridiculous as it sounded (Who takes a big tire?) .

This morning I received a phone call from Lynda Best who saw the ad on your site. Her and her husband found the tire ditched in the weeds behind their house and were not sure what to do with it.

"Music and Mind-Benders" was the theme for the Maple Crest Men's Banquet, held on June 19.

The music was provided by folk-singer/storyteller Joseph Helfrich, known as "Joseph." His program included a variety of instruments, from the banjo to the bag pipes, and his humorous songs and stories kept the crowd in an up-beat mood.

"Joseph" felt like a "boy coming home" as he found himself in the company of three former professors from his Bluffton College days - Stan Clemens (guest) and residents Luther Shetler and Burton Yost.
