Ten Thousand Villages, 115 S. Main St., Bluffton is holding a "25 percent off" jewelry sale, plus select scarves and bags. According to Aphaphanh Nussbaum, store manager, the sale continue through April 9.

Grace Mennonite Church in Pandora will hold its annual Holy Week Services on Sunday and Monday, April 1-2, according to Dennis Schmidt, pastor.

The speaker this year is Janeen Bertsche Johnson, campus pastor at Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary, Elkhart, Ind. She will preach using the series "Seeking the Mind of Christ." It explores Philippians 2:5-11 and what it means to "let the same mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus."

Earlier this spring you viewed Explore Bluffton, a 36-page booklet, called the Bluffton visitor's guide.

We've posted a new booklet for you titled "Icon Book of Spring Blooms, 2012." This new feature enables The Icon to create an online magazine that viewers are able to "turn the pages."

It's only March but preparations for this summer's swimming season are underway at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.

Mehaffie's report to council on Monday will provide information about summer preparations being made at the pool.

In addition, thanks to the warmer than normal temperatures, the water in on in the village parks and the rest rooms are open.

The St. John's United Church of Christ peeks out behind the magnolia in full bloom across the Bluffton High School. Wish it could stay this way all year.

Long before the automobile, Bluffton was served by several businesses catering to persons who owned horses. One of those businesses was Bogart's Harness Shop. The shop eventually became an automobile agency.
