We've posted hundreds of license plates on The Icon, but this one is in a class by itself.

Study it for a moment. What do you see? You see a traditional Bluffton "YZ" but the plate is not Ohio. The plate is Arizona.

What's going on here? The answer is that "70 YZ" once upon a time belonged to James F. West of Sunset Drive. His son, John, moved to Arizona and took a little of Bluffton with him. John obtained the vanity plate for his dad's old Ohio plate.

David Yarnall

David Yarnall will play the Great Highland Bagpipe at Bluffton Presbyterian Church Sunday, March 18, to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. He will play during the 10:15 a.m. service.

He will play Highland Cathedral, Amazing Grace, Londonderry Air and Ode to Joy. Yarnall, who lives in Springfield, has played bagpipes for over 35 years. He's also an accomplished artist.

A special Lenten service will be held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 21.

Vicar Michael Schneider from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Findlay, will deliver the sermon on "Shed No Tears for Jesus." The students of Trinity's third and fourth grades will sing "What Grace is This!" with violin and keyboard accompaniment.
