Since “The Great Resignation” in 2021, workforce shortages have become increasingly common across industries. The healthcare sector, already strained by the pandemic, has faced significant challenges, particularly in maintaining adequate physician staffing. However, physician shortages are not new. They have been building for years due to population growth, aging demographics, rising healthcare costs, and a limited pipeline of new physician trainees.

LIMA – Three Bluffton High School boys tennis players competed in the semifinal and consolation rounds on day two of the UNOH Div. II sectionals Saturday, May 17 in Lima.
Third-seeded Pirate Branson Hilty won two matches Thursday in the singles tournament to advance to the semifinals Saturday. He qualified for districts with those two victories.
COLUMBUS GROVE – On Friday, May 16, the Bluffton High School boys track and field team won the Northwest Conference championship meet at Columbus Grove, while the Pirate girls finished a strong second.
The Pirate boys scored 188 points, 23 points ahead of second-place meet host Grove (165).
Spencerville came in a distant third with 91 points, followed by Crestview (70), Lincolnview (69), Allen East (41), Delphos Jefferson (21) and LCC (6).
