On March 10, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine announced the following appointments:
Mark B. Malone of Lima (Allen Co.) has been reappointed to the Banking Commission for a term beginning March 10, 2023, and ending January 31, 2027.
Kevin E. Smith of Findlay (Hancock Co.) has been appointed to the State Emergency Response Commission for a term beginning March 10, 2023, and ending January 13, 2025.
The Bluffton Lions Club is pleased to announce the 2022 Citizen of the Year Award will be given to William A. (Bill) Herr. Bill has generously given much time and energy to multiple organizations for the benefit of the Bluffton community.
Bill is a very selfless person who has touched many lives in this community. He was born, raised and educated in Bluffton, Ohio. He has been a farmer almost his entire life, reared on a dairy farm and then living on his own small farm just outside the town of Bluffton, where he continues to farm.
How many hundreds or thousands of times have Bluffton children asked us to read The Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss? Across the nation this week, that tally could be in the millions. This is Read Across America Week, which also celebrates Dr. Seuss's birthday.

The Lima-Allen County Regional Planning Commission is hosting a Transportation Improvement Plan Open House on March 15 from 2:00- 6:00 p.m. at 130 W. North St. in Lima.
