Citizens National Bank (CNB) of Bluffton has been named one of the best-performing community banks in the nation by The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA).

The annoiuncement explaine, "All community banks in the U.S. were divided into categories by asset size: Less than $300 million; $300 million to less than $1 billion; and $1 billion or more. CNB just surpassed the $1 billion in assets threshold in January and was named 24th in the nation for that category."

"Community bank" is an unofficial designation that indicates the organization has less than $10 billion in assets.

Ruth Hohenbrink, 94, of Bluffton, died May 13, 2024, at St. Rita’s Medical Center. 

A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, May 18, 2024 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bluffton with Father John McLaughlin to officiate.

The Blanchard Valley Health System Auxiliary recently awarded eleven $1,000 scholarships to students in Hancock and surrounding counties interested in pursuing a health-related career.

The 2024 BVHS Auxiliary scholarship winners include Ella Armstrong (Bluffton High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Goshen College and Brooke Camper (Bluffton High School), pursuing a nursing degree at Cedarville University; Kaytlynn Schroeder (Leipsic High School), pursuing a nutrition and dietetics degree at Bluffton University.
