Ohio Northern University's Department of Biological and Allied Health Sciences has announced a number of new clinical and academic affiliations for its clinical laboratory science (CLS) program.

The newest clinical affiliation agreements are with Blanchard Valley Hospital in Findlay, and Wyandot Memorial Hospital in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. Clinical affiliations give Ohio Northern's CLS students opportunities for clinical experiences.

The Apollo Career Center Floral Design/Interiors program is holding its annual bedding plant sale beginning May 3. The program will have tits greenhouses full of annuals and perennials waiting to be planted.

The sale will begin Tuesday, May 3, 8-10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m. The sale will continue until all plants are sold.

Bluffton University's Peace Education and Action Community Endeavor (PEACE) Club and university senior Maggie Rose Stover, an intern for the Bluffton Fair Trade Task Force, will show the film "The Dark Side of Chocolate" at 9 p.m. tonight (April 20) in Stutzman Lecture Hall in Centennial Hall. The screening is free and open to the public.

The 45-minute documentary is about the cocoa supply chain in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, and the chocolate produced by children there.

Bluffton teachers agreed to freeze their base salaries for three years. The action took place at the April Bluffton school board meeting on Monday. In addition, teachers agreed to not take step increases in 2011-12.

In March the Bluffton school administrators agreed to no pay raises in 2011-12.

New location

Jimmy Grose, manager of Bluffton's Cellular Central/Verizon store, takes a call. The store recently relocated to 142 E. Jefferson St.

Cellular Central, Inc./Verizon Wireless had a new home. The North Main Street business has relocated in a portion of the former Movie Gallery at 142 E. Jefferson St. The move took place last week.

The store is part of a 43-store chain in Ohio. Its home office is in Toledo. Jimmy Grose of Findlay is the store manager, serving in his third year in that position. Cellular Central had operated in Bluffton for the past six years.
