Bluffton athlete Trevor Bassitt ran a personal record of 47.39 in the men's 400m hurdles to win a bronze medal at the 2022 World Athletic Championships.
In a field including the Tokyo Olympics gold and silver medalists, Bassitt placed behind Brazil’s Alison Dos Santos and teammate Rai Benjamin, who said he was more excited about Bassitt's bronze than his own silver.
Norwegian Karsten Warholm, who won gold in Tokyo, has only finished two races this season due to injuries and failed to place.

The West Central Ohio Land Conservancy (WCOLC) will host Preserving Ohio Country from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on August 11, at the Lauer Historical Farm, 800 Roush Rd., Lima. The celebration of our farm community includes an entertaining program that highlights "the most valuable resource in west central Ohio⎯farmland." Kent Arden Kinsinger passed away peacefully on July 16, 2022 at the age of 72 at his home in Apalachicola Florida. Kent was born October 11, 1949 in Bluffton, OH to Charles Kinsinger (deceased) and Treva Stauffer Kinsinger.
