In anticipation of another potentially significant snow event early this week, the Village of Bluffton is informing the public that its snow ordinance is now in effect (as of Sunday, Feb. 7), according to Rick Skilliter, police chief.

All vehicles parked on the public roadways must be parked on the side of the street that corresponds with the calendar day of the week (i.e. parked on the odd side of the street on odd calendar days and even side of the street on even calendar days).

Think you know every Super Bowl football fact worth chewing on? Think again.

Bet you didn't know a Bluffton High School grad, now deceased, owned four Super Bowl rings. Think hard. Hint: He's Mary Amstutz's brother...or if you still need help...he's Steve Amstutz's (a.k.a. Mr. A) uncle.

Neil Schmidt, a 1947 Bluffton High School graduate, who you could say was the greatest Bluffton athlete of his era, owned four Super Bowl rings. I know. I saw 'em.

Citizens National Bank announced the appointment of Stanley R. Clemens of Bluffton to its board of directors at the monthly meeting held on Jan. 26.

Along with the other members, he will be responsible for oversight of business development, regulatory compliance, community relations and bank profitability.

Elizabeth Nisly was so touched by reports she read and saw in the days following the January 12 earthquake in Haiti that she knew she had to do something to help. But the 11-year-old Bluffton sixth grader wasn't in the position to travel to Haiti to volunteer.

So, while helping her dad wash the dishes, she asked if they could do something to raise money for the victims of the earthquake. The two narrowed their choices down to a dessert event or spaghetti dinner. The spaghetti dinner won, and Elizabeth began planning.

Fred,

Jack and I both graduated from BC in 1956 and both of us roomed with John E. Rogers III who also graduated with us. John was from Manchester, CT and was a janitor in Ropp Hall for a time.

Jack painted a floor to ceiling mural on the south wall of their room just off the third floor porch in Ropp Hall. The mural depicts John with his trade-mark huge smile holding a push broom. Don't know if it's still there.

Richard and Mary Ann Jordan of 528 S. Main St., have 528 on their license plate.
