The Fort Findlay Stamp and Postcard Club marks its 56th year with their annual show, Finpex 2010. The theme of this year's show is the 150th Anniversary of the Founding of Maple Grove Cemetery in Findlay, according to Scott Little of Bluffton, member of the club.

Lou Ann Traxler

Lou Ann Traxler, 63, Pandora, died at 3:10 a.m., March 18, 2010, in Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born Feb. 1, 1947, in Lima, to Howard and Mildred Winkle Fenstermaker.

She had worked in the food service at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was a member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church, Mt. Cory. She was a graduate of Findlay High School and Tiffin University.

St. John's United Church of Christ will have a beef and noodle dinner from 4:30 to 6:40 p.m., Friday, March 19, at the church. Carry-out meals are available and also free delivery if persons call the evening of the dinner at 419-358-5641. Meals are $7 for adults, $5 for high school and college students and $4 for kindergartners through sixth grade.

The Cairo and Rockport United Methodist churches will present three performances of "Arise!" an Easter cantata, according the Rev. Richard Rakay, pastor.

Performances are at 7 p.m., Friday, March 26; 7 p.m., Saturday, March 27; and 2 p.m., Sunday, March 28, at the Cairo Community Center, which is the old school gym.

"The Center is transformed into ancient Israel where we witness the birth of Jesus, several miracles, and the Easter story," said Rev. Rakay.

Dr. Myron Augsburger

Dr. Myron Augsburger will be the Holy Week speaker at Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora, Sunday and Monday, March 28 and 29. Everyone is invited to attend these special meetings, according to Dennis Schmidt, pastor.

Augsburger has held evangelistic meetins in major cities and towns across North America, in Jamaica, India, the Orient, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Central and South America, has served as president of Eastern Mennonite University and is the author of many books.

The community meals sponsored by the Bluffton Area Ministerial Association continues this evening. The meal is open to the public and is held at the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center, 132 N. Main St. The meal begin at 6 p.m. Donations support the Bluffton Community Assistance Program's food pantry. Tonight's meal is catered by the Ebenezer Mennonite Church.

Sheri Hostetler, pastor of First Mennonite Church in San Francisco, Calif., and a Bluffton University graduate, will discuss "Sexual Ethics Beyond the Rules" at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, in Bluffton's Founders Hall. The Women's Studies Forum is free and open to the public.

Hostetler will explore a sexual ethic that goes beyond dos and don'ts, addressing such questions as values and principles that should guide sexual relating and how individuals can become more faithful and discerning moral agents when it comes to sexual expression.

A new competition will highlight the annual Bach Festival at Bluffton University.

The university's music department will host Bach Festival 2010 on Friday and Sunday, March 26 and 28. The weekend includes the traditional Bach's Lunch on Friday and Sunday's Bach Festival Concert, which will open at 2:30 p.m. in Yoder Recital Hall with the Mosiman Young Artist Competition. The events are free and open to the public.

Bluffton's next American Red Cross blood drive is Thursday, April 1. The event is from noon to 6 p.m. hosted by St. Mary's Catholic Church.
