This week the come-from-behind plot did not develop for the Bluffton Pirate football team. Delphos Jefferson won the NWC contest at Harmon Field 19-15. To view the complete game stats click on the attachment.

The Bluffton Schools will hold a district-wide open house on Monday, Sept 13.

The elementary school will be open from 6 to 7 p.m., the middle school from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., and the high school from 7 to 8 p.m. Several community organizations will have booths set-up in the elementary gymnasium and information will be available on ways to provide support to the school and community.

Defiance

Bluffton High School girls' soccer team hosted another game at Steinmetz field this past Saturday against Defiance. Pretty evenly matched, Bluffton had four shots, with Defiance close behind with three in the first half.

Three Bluffton University alumni and a retired Bluffton professor will be honored by the university during its annual alumni awards banquet on Homecoming weekend. The Commons in Marbeck Center will be the site of the event at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8.

Robert Smucker '52 is this year's recipient of the Lifetime Service Award, presented to alumni who have dedicated their lives to heartfelt service to people, community or church.

"Being A Man of the Hour," is the theme of an Apostolic Ministries, Inc., Farrell, Pa., Hungry for Holiness Men's Fellowship conference, held in Bluffton, Friday and Saturday, Sept. 17-18, according to Mark Neddeau, pastor of the Shepherd's Flock Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Bluffton, who is hosting the event.

The conference will take place at the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, 8375 Phillips Road, Bluffton.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, in a service open to anyone. Pastor Neddeau will preach on Friday evening.
