It may not be the most glamorous role in Bluffton University's production of "The Glass Menagerie," but Aaron Yost's part in the play aids both the actors and audience.

The Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center of Bluffton University will host a public reception from 9-10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, for two visiting faculty members from Iran.
Dr. Mohsen Javadi is associate professor of philosophy at the University of Qom, while Dr. Mohammad Ali Shomali is associate professor and head of the department of religions at the Imam Khomeini Education and Research Institute, also in Qom.
During their visit, sponsored by Mennonite Central Committee, the Iranians will also engage with faculty and students in classrooms and participate in campus events.
Five Bluffton University students are gaining exposure to their planned future careers with the aid of Professional Enrichment Grants from the university's Women's Council.
Ranging up to $300, the grants are helping with expenses related to two upcoming conferences and, for junior Stephanie Patterson, a trip to New York City last week that included a piano performance by her and three other Bluffton students in Steinway Hall.
The Bluffton University women's volleyball team turned out a down-to-the-wire victory at conference rival Defiance College on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
Despite dropping the third set, the Beavers were able to pull out the win 25-15, 25-18, 25-27, 26-24. With the win, Bluffton moved to 20-6 overall and 6-2 in conference play, while Defiance fell to 12-17 overall and 3-6 in the HCAC.
For the third consecutive season, the Beavers have now garnered a 20-plus win season, and the victory also handed Head Coach Steve Yarnell his 100th win at Bluffton University.
The Bluffton Farmers' Market will open one final time in 2010. The final date is Saturday, Oct. 30, from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The market is located in the Citizens National Bank parking lot. The market will open again in May 2011.

John Risner spends most of his time in the Mansfield, Ohio, area, as youth pastor at Ontario Christian Fellowship and a student at Ashland Seminary.
But this weekend, the Bluffton University alumnus will be in San Antonio, Texas, where a movie in which he made his professional acting debut-in the lead role-is among eight nominees in the Feature Film category at the San Antonio Independent Christian Film Festival.
