Bluffton Senior Center's will hold a craft supply sale, Friday, Feb. 25, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 26, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to Tonya Meyer, director.

The sale includes sewing notions, candle supplies, yarn, wood, material, doll making, buttons, beads, ribbon and much more. The Center is located at 132 N. Main St., Bluffton, phone 419-358-8971.

She said that the Senior Center has carried American Girl doll clothes and now also have Bitty Baby doll clothes and Barbie doll cloths as well as doll clothes of all sizes.

Elaine Brubaker will lead a Fair Trade Town Tour through Bluffton Wednesday evening. The walking tour begins at 6:30 p.m. at Common Grounds.

The tour will include visits to The Food Store and Ten Thousand Villages. A Bluffton University class will be part of those in the tour and the event is open to the public.

Bluffton University's women's cross country team has earned NCAA Division III All-Academic status for 2010.

With a cumulative team grade point average of 3.29, Bluffton is among 167 Division III women's cross country teams nationwide to be so honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association. To qualify, teams needed to compile a cumulative GPA of at least 3.10 and to post a score-meaning at least five runners finished-at their respective NCAA regional meets last fall.

Royal couples and very, very congenial people reside in Bluffton. In case you aren't aware, this year's King and Queen of Maple Crest's Senior Village Valentine's Day celebration are, Arthur and Jo Ann Hilty. Named Ms. Congeniality is Anne Buller. The Valentine's Day party is an annual event at Maple Crest.

On Monday, Feb. 14, Maple Crest Senior Living Village, in Bluffton, hosted ITS annual Valentine's Day Party. Sixty residents attended and were treated to an evening of music, food and fellowship.

The Inn at Ohio Northern University hosts two special events on Thursday, Feb. 24.

From 3:30 to 5 p.m. The Inn offers Thursday Tea. This week's tea features Relaxation Blend tea paired with pound cake and peach preserves. In addition, is a selection of chef's tea sandwiches, scones, pastries, tarts and petite fours. Champagne is also available.

The weekly Thursday Tea at the Inn features a specific tea and dessert, and includes a variety and teas and pastries. Reservations are not required except for parties of five or more.

St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora, will hold A Walk Thru the Bible's Biblical Portrait of Marriage Conference, Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19, at the church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora.

Friday's event is from 7 to 9:30 p.m.; Saturday's event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Childcare will be provided along with snacks, a noon meal and workbook.

The conference includes issues such as dealing with in-laws, dividing household chores, managing finances and building communication skills.

Add 3.1 inches of snowfall to the 2011snowfall count. That makes a total of 28.2 inches of snowfall for the year. The past seven days provided an unusual mix of weather, according to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer.

In addition to the snow, the 59 degree temperature on Feb. 17 set a high record. The previous high for the 17th was 55 set in 2008. Here's the past seven day highs and lows.

Blanchard Valley Health System (BVHS), Findlay, is offering educational scholarships to individuals pursuing health care careers. High school seniors entering college, current college students and BVHS associates are eligible to apply.

Bluffton Diamond Sports is now holding sign-ups for spring/summer baseball and softball.

A sign-up form is available to download at the bottom of this story.

Registration forms may be picked up at the elementary school or middle school offices. The forms will also be available to pick up and fill out at sign-ups.

A reading by poet and author Robert Rhodes, scheduled for 4 p.m. Tuesday at Bluffton University, has been postponed due to weather forcing cancellation of his travel plans.
