This year marks the 7th year for the Jerry Lewis' McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Dinner, which was started in 1989 by the Chester Carey Family.
The Jerry Lewis' McDonald's Thanksgiving Day Dinner will be held on Thursday, Nov. 24 from 11a.m. to 2p.m. at the Lima Veteran's Memorial Civic and Convention Center.
Lewis says, "Each year the dinner continues to grow, a great deal of which is due to the economy. We know that now, more than ever, it is important to have a place for people to eat and fellowship on a special day like Thanksgiving."
Bluffton University's Social Work Club would like to extend a gracious thank you for all who were involved in our Trick-or-Canning event.
This was an extremely successful event and we were able to exceed our goal of 500 items for the West Ohio Food Bank. We even received more nonperishable goods after our deadline!
Several Bluffton dancers plus area students will perform during the Saturday, Dec. 3, Rhythm In Motion Dance Centre, Ada, dance recital at Lima Senior High School.
According to Darcey Schneider, owner of the studio, the holiday recital tradition has over 30 numbers. It features all of the students at the studio and includes holiday favorites including Jingle Bell Rock, Up on The House Top, and a visit from Santa.

The Dough Hook, 117 N. Main St., Bluffton, is planning its third annual "Cans for Cookies Drive," according to owners John and Sharon Calvelage.
Here's how it works: During the week of Tuesday, Nov. 15, to Saturday, Nov. 19, customers who bring in canned items get a cookie for each item donated.
"Bring in 12 items and get a dozen free cookies," says Sharon.
All donated food will be given to the Bluffton Food Pantry. The Dough Hook's hours are Tuesday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. It's phone number is 419-369-4264.
