Who is the gentleman in the "Born Free - Ride Free" jacket standing on the sidelines of Harmon Field?

A couple hints before you look below...he works in Bluffton and probably assisted you at one time or another while you visited the Bluffton Hospital.

The answer is in the photo below (click on the right photo to read his name):

It appears that the tradition will continue.

The "tradition" is a strong Bluffton High School academic team, coached by John George, Bluffton High School teacher. Over the years Bluffton's teams have made impressive showings in Northwest Conference, regional competition and at the state level.

This school year is no different. The Bluffton High School team recently finished second out of 16 teams at the TV 44 Whiz Quiz Winter Tournament.

Bluffton hosted a kick-off workshop of Allen and Hancock County officials charged with improving the health of local residents. The two-hour session on Oct. 9 focused largely on increasing accessibility for bikers and pedestrians in Bluffton.

The biggest play of the BHS-Spencerville game came with 23 seconds left in the game on special teams as Noah Stratton blocked an extra point to seal the game at 14-13 for the Pirates.

The first score of the game didn’t come until the second quarter as Mitchell Ault hit Robbie Stratton for 14 yards and a score.

Spencerville’s defense would get the scoring for them as Aaron Crider recovered a fumble in the Pirate’s end zone in the third quarter to tie the game.
