Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce members will hear about the Bluffton Community Pre-School during its Friday, Dec. 11, breakfast meeting.
Shelly Matijevich, director of the pre-school, will present the program. The free breakfast is from 7 to 7:30 a.m. The program is from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Following the program persons may meet Matijevich to learn more about the pre-school that is housed in First United Methodist Church.

he Bluffton University men's basketball team built a 16-point lead midway through the second half and held on for the 81-79 victory over Transylvania University on Saturday, Dec. 5, in the Heartland Conference opener for both teams.
It marked the first time in school history that both the men and women have taken down Transylvania's basketball teams on the same day.
TIFFIN, Ohio - The Bluffton University indoor track and field team opened its 2015-16 campaign at Tiffin University on Saturday, Dec. 5, 2015. The Beavers shook off the rust and ended the competition with 11 qualifiers for the HCAC indoor championship.

Bluffton council will review reports on Monday from two of its committees involving recreation in the community.
The reports are from the street and alley committee’s joint meeting with the bike and pedestrian pathway board, and from the recreation board, which involves discussion of the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool.
The pathway-street and alley meeting involved discussion of a continued bike and pedestrian path encircling the village.
Bluffton University’s music department has announced the soloists for its 120th performance of Handel’s “Messiah,” at 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 6, in Founders Hall. Soloists are Kate Merryman, soprano; Lianna Wimberly Williams, mezzo-soprano; James Flora, tenor; and Weilong Tao, baritone.
The Advent service held at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera, at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 9, will include special music service with interspersed readings.
Music will be by the handbell choir, organ, piano, guitar and trumpet. here will be a vocal selection and the choir will sing “Infant Holy, Infant Lowly” and “Peace, Peace,” which is an arrangement of “Silent Night.”
