May 2020

No, it's not Bluffton. It's Main Street Ada. You'll find the Brewer Block on the east side of Main, directly across from the Ada railroad depot.

When this photo above was taken, the stately Brewer Block was home to the Ada post office. The street was bricked, the Pennsylvania Railroad had a double track through town, street lights were relatively new, windows were more expansive and a taller building stood where Cole's car lot is located today.

Tip from the Icons and Ohio News Media Association.

Icon viewers who are parents of K to 5th grade students told us how their children have adapted to learning at home. For the most part viewers claim it's a bit of both - exellent and frustrating.

Take the Icon's newest poll: Now that Ohio is beginning to reopen its businesses for shopping, what’s your comfort level of entering a store to make a purchase?

Hi, I'm Elizabeth Kingsley

Welcome to the Icon's feature "Wear your mask proudly." We invite viewers to send a photo of themselves wearing a mask.

It's a way to encourage viewers to wear masks when in public and to recognize those who are thoughtful enough to take the time to wear one.

Send your mask photo to: [email protected].

Here's today's installment of the Bluffton High School Class of 2020 Senior Spotlight. Each weekday until the end of May the Icon will feature photos and future plans for four BHS seniors.  Students will be featured in a four-set random order.

Teacher Appreciation Week was May 4-8. In cooperation with the Bluffton PTO, the Icon is posting drawings of elementary teachers created by elementary students. Wilson Steiner, fifth grader, created this drawing of his teacher, Mrs. Boblitt.

The Icon invites all elementary students to submit a drawing of a teacher. Send to: [email protected].
