A remembrance of The Reformation will be in the Sunday, Nov. 1, services at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Jenera.  On Oct. 31, 1517, a monk named Martin Luther, nailed a paper on which were written 95 Theses, to the Castle Church door in Wittenberg, Germany.

This sparked changes in the church at that time, which are still upheld today. Service times are 8 and 10:30 a.m.

Sunday services are uploaded to You Tube each week. Search Trinity Lutheran Church, Jenera.

Will play again in January

The Bluffton University volleyball team persevered through a fractured fall, going 5-0 thanks to a pair of wins at Manchester University on Sunday, Oct. 25.

The fall season is now complete for a Beaver squad that will tackle the Heartland Conference starting in January as part of a modified schedule that will see Bluffton play nine doubleheaders against all of its conference foes.

Darian Greeley put up the most rushing yards for a Beaver since Elbert Dubenion went for 294 in 1955. His 285 yards on 41 carries is 3rd on the all time list behind Dubenion and Mike Goings

The Bluffton University football team took advantage of its lone opportunity to compete this fall, running to a 28-21 victory over Adrian College on a chilly Saturday, Oct. 24. Adrian slipped to 1-2 on the season, while the Beavers head into the spring with a 1-0 mark.

The plan was evident from the first snap of the game when Bluffton handed the ball to Darian Greeley (Belleville, Mich./Chippewa Valley) and he took it 11 yards for a first down.

Just as the road in Richland Township says

You've driven on Tom Fett Road west of Bluffton going north and south in Richland Township. The road was named after Mr. Fett, who had a farm on that road near today's interstate.

The late Herb Probst researched Tom Fett and we provide Herb's information about him here:

Thomas Fett was born on July 31, 1832, in Canada. His father was of German origin and his mother came from Ireland.
