For the third year in a row, Bluffton residents plan to join a movement known as Play Music on the Porch Day (a.k.a. PorchFest) which will take place on August 29. This worldwide movement encourages people to spend the day outdoors playing or listening to music.

FROM BSC HAPPENINGS_The Bluffton Senior Center is hosting an RTA bus trip led by Sherry Miller to Delphos on Wednesday, July 29.

The cost for a bus ticket is $3 cash, with the bus leaving the Bluffton Town Hall bus stop at 8:45 a.m. Guests are asked to meet at 8:35 a.m. and to bring exact change.

Participants will be on their own upon arrival in Delphos, where they can explore Main Street shops, including a thrift store and restaurants. The Creamery is a local favorite.

The RTA bus will depart for the return trip to Bluffton at 2:45 p.m.

BSC HAPPENINGS__The Bluffton Senior Center will be hosting a Route 66 Centennial trip from September 2 through 13, 2026. Prices start at $3999 per double occupancy, with brochures available at the Senior Center.

The trip is a level 3 because of long days, and you must have a Real ID to fly.

BPL UPDATES__Small groups are invited to an escape room experience at the Bluffton Public Library. On Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, starting at 10:00 a.m., visitors can experience a "Jurassic Adventure" Escape Room in the library's lower level.

This program is family-friendly and suitable for ages 8 and up. It’s perfect for groups of three to five friends. The library asks that those under age 12 attend with someone age 18+ throughout the challenge.

MEDIA RELEASE__Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Well, there weren’t any lions or tigers but there probably were bears (and definitely wolves) when the Swiss settlers began to arrive in the Bluffton/Pandora area. 

Join us on Saturday, July 11, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Schumacher Homestead and Swiss Heritage Center, 8350 Bixel Road, for a look at the critters that our Swiss ancestors had to deal with when they began to build “The Settlement.”  

BPL UPDATES__The Bluffton Public Library invites readers to come and read with a dog on Friday, July 17, and Friday, July 31, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Register in advance to sit down and read for 10 minutes with a Pet Partners dog. The event is open to children and teens who attend with an adult.

Those wishing to attend may register online or in person at the library.
