 McDonald's owner operators throughout Ohio will be raising funds for local high school athletic programs on September 26. During the High School Sports Digital Fundraiser Day, 261 schools across Ohio including Bluffton High School, will earn 10 percent of all sales purchased through the McDonald’s app.

In 2024, David Yost, Ohio’s Attorney General, released statistics about fentanyl (a synthetic opioid) and overdose deaths in Ohio. In the United States as of 2023, there were over 70,000 fentanyl-related overdose deaths with 3,579 of those in Ohio.

The September meeting of the Bluffton Exempted Village Schools Board of Education included an introduction of foreign exchange students, approval of supplemental contracts and the 8th grade trip to Washington D.C., as well as staff reports.

James "Jim" "Duke" DeWayne Motter, 79, passed away September 16, 2024 at his residence.  Jim was born June 20, 1945 in Bluffton to the late Myron and Edith (Zimmerly) Motter.  On October 11, 1968 he married Pat Crawford Motter who survives.

DELPHOS __ The visiting Bluffton High School volleyball team defeated Northwest Conference rival Delphos Jefferson handily in straight sets Tuesday night, September 17.

The dominating 25-19, 25-12, 25-2 Pirate sweep improved their record to 12-2 overall and 2-0 in the NWC. Bluffton has won 11 of their last 12 matches.

Delphos Jefferson fell to 3-9 overall and 0-3 in NWC play after the defeat.

“We started off a little slow then found our rhythm,” said Pirate head coach Kevin King.
