During rehearsals of Agatha Christie’s famous murder mystery “The Mousetrap,” Dr. Melissa Friesen favorite refrain is “dun, dun, dun.” That’s because twists and turns abound in this play as a blizzard traps seven strangers in Monkswell Manor Guest House amid news of a murderer on the loose.

“The audience doesn’t know who the murderer is or who the next potential victim may be,” said Friesen, professor of theatre and communication and director of the play. “Agatha Christie throws in all sorts of red herrings and vague descriptions. It’s such a fun play.”

Little Riley Creek farm of rural Bluffton recently welcomed newborn goats to their herd of Dwarf Nigerian/Nubian Cross and Dwarf Nigerian/Alpine Cross. In these photos, the kids are one week old.

Bluffton mysterious place series

This is a continuation of the www.blufftonforever.com series featuring Bluffton’s 10 most mysterious locations.

What is the oldest existing structure in the village of Bluffton? Where is it and what was its use?

The answer: The remains of a lime kiln and ashery used in making lime and soap. You will find it on the Riley Creek bank at the bend of Thurman Street, across from the EMS building.

The Wednesday, March 23rd, Lenten service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, will be based on the theme "A Part of the Whole?" from Luke 23:13-16.  

The service begins at 7:00 p.m. and all are welcome.  

Mornings with Mommy, a time for caregivers with their children from 0-6 years to explore activities together, will be held in the church basement on Monday and Tuesday, March 21+22 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. 

As part of CommunityREAD month, the Findlay-Hancock County Public Library is holding the following programs, among others:

At 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 22  in the Lindamood Room, The Black Heritage Library and Multicultural Center presents The Underground Railroad in Findlay. Participants will learn about how our area and its people affected history.  

At 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, the library will host a movie viewing in the Lindamood Room. The film is a documentary, Lorraine Hansberry: Sighted Eyes, Feeling
