OCTOBER 2 MEDIA RELEASE__Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio will host their 4th Annual Gala on October 9, 2025.  This year’s theme will be “Aloha Nights” and guests will be invited to wear their favorite Hawaiian attire. MHCO's Gala is a fundraising event to benefit the Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio Benevolent Care Fund, which provides support to care for older adults who have outlived their resources.  We would also like to thank our Gold Sponsors–Citrin Cooperman, Hometown Pharmacy and the Water Equipment Company–for their ongoing generous support.

In September 2025, the Village of Bluffton installed a second "Welcome to Bluffton" monument, replicating the extremely large natural stone that was placed at the Bentley Rd. exit to I-75 in 2022 (pictured here). The first monument is make from the largest single piece of rock ever to be harvested from the Bluffton Stone quarry. The new matching, "mini" entrance marker is made of faux stone.

UPDATE: Print copies have been delivered to Bluffton Public Library, Bluffton Senior Center, Maple Crest, Musselman Library and the Village of Bluffton.

It's always a joyful moment when a new baby is born. Everyone in the family wants to come meet the new addition. A few days later, this precious little baby is struggling to breathe and needs to be in the intensive care unit (ICU) with respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) bronchiolitis.

RSV is a virus generally present in the winter, usually at its worst in January and February each year. We are starting to see cases of RSV in our community.

The following five land transfers took place in the Bluffton Exempted Village School District for the month of September 2025 as reported on the websites of Allen County Auditor Rachael S. Gilroy and Hancock County Auditor Charity A. Rauschenberg.
