In 1986, Rodney Dangerfield starred in the movie Back to School about a self-made millionaire who decided to attend college at the same time his son was in college. This American comedy grossed over 91 million dollars in the United States during the year. In a funny way, the movie discusses the issues of going back to school and difficulties that can arise.
Janette (Benroth) Reineke and Dick Boehr, members of the Benroth Memorial Bridge committee, recently addressed Bluffton Council regarding the need for maintenance work on the structure at Buckeye Park. Created in 1998 to honor Eugene Benroth, a.k.a. "Mr. Bluffton," the committee raised some $80K to build the bridge. Graffiti and a failing roof are among the issues noted by Reineke and Boehr. Village Administrator Jesse Blackburn responded that roof work is planned for 2026.
SEPT 17 MEDIA RELEASE__The Bluffton Schools will hold a district-wide open house on Monday evening, September 22, from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Several community organizations will have booths set up in the elementary gymnasium, and information will be available on ways to provide support to the school and community.
All parents and community members are invited to this open house to meet staff members, observe facilities, and learn more about the educational opportunities available to Bluffton students.
LEXINGTON__The visiting Bluffton High School boys soccer team tied Lexington 1-1 on a late goal in a tight non-league match on Wednesday, September 17.
The Pirate record is 2-6-3 after the result. The Minutemen are now 5-4-1.

Lexington’s Cohen Lautzenhiser finally broke the ice by tallying the game’s first goal in the 53rd minute.
