The Bluffton University women’s basketball team was defeated by Transylvania University, 63-52, on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012.

The Beavers slipped to 5-3 overall and 1-3 in the HCAC, while Transylvania moved to 6-1 overall and a perfect 4-0 in the HCAC.

The Pioneers came out ready to play and were up 5-0 less than three minutes into the game.

The Beavers fought back as a three-pointer from freshman Kaitlyn Pennekamp (Hamilton/Ross) at the 12:38 mark cut Transy’s lead to just two.

The Beavers fell 72-61 to the Transylvania University Pioneers on Saturday, Dec. 15, after a 79 percent second half field goal percentage propelled the visitors to a 72-61 victory.

The Beavers, attempting to repeat last year’s home victory over the Pioneers, stormed out to a 13-point lead after Dustin Kinn (New Reigal) netted eight points in the first 10 minutes of the game.

Sorry, can’t recall my first-ever meeting with Abraham Rudolf Steiner. Probably because of a focus on the larger question: “How did I get here?”

I do know it was Nov. 9, 1949. Thanks to my baby book, the roll of visitors on my first day in Bluffton includes the name “A.R.” Steiner.

He was 7; I had yet to experience my first-ever sundown.

A.R.  claims he can’t remember our first meeting either, so, I don’t feel that bad.

The Icon spotted this Hancock County plate recently in Ada. Can any viewer explain the meaning?
