Dale L. Huber, age 94, died at home with family on November 12, 2021.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1926 in the original Huber Homestead Farm house to Russell and Josephine (Niswander) Huber, who preceded him in death. Dale married the love of his life, Etta Jo Maynard on Jan. 21, 1951 and she preceded him in death on Feb.5, 2016.
The Pandora United Methodist Church will host a free Community Meal from 5:00- 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 108 E. Washington Street, Pandora.

The Bluffton University football team was better than rival Defiance in all three phases of the game as the Beavers retained 'The Hammer' with a convincing 30-12 win on a frigid Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021. Bluffton improved to 4-6 and 3-4 in the Heartland Conference thanks to wins over Manchester and Defiance the last two weeks. The Yellow Jackets saw their season come to an end with a 1-9 mark (1-6 HCAC).
The Bluffton University women's basketball team lost a 55-47 slugfest to Oberlin College on Saturday, Nov. 13, in the 2021-22 season opener for the Beavers. Oberlin stayed perfect at 2-0 following the victory.
Bluffton fell behind 12-5 just over six minutes into the opening period as the Yeowomen knocked down two early triples. A pair of Ella Zaborowski (Toledo/Toledo Christian) free throws and a putback by senior Brianna Gillig (New Riegel) made it 17-11 in favor of the visitors after one quarter of action.
The November 12 meeting of the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce at town hall was emceed by board member Derek Dukes of Southgate Lanes and sponsored by the Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs.
Dukes announced that posters for the November 27 Blaze of Lights will be distributed in the next few days. New in 2021, the chamber’s annual residential holiday lighting contest will have two divisions with three Bluffton Bucks prizes for each division--northwest and southeast of Main St. It was also noted that the chamber is still taking applications for its part-time CEO position.
The Bluffton University women's swimming team cut over three hours off its travel time on Saturday, Nov. 13, when their meet scheduled for Hanover was pushed north to Anderson University.
Senior Brooke Kleman (Glandorf/Ottawa-Glandorf) powered a Bluffton team that was just 10 points away from a second-place finish. She took first in the 100-yard breaststroke with a school-record time of 1:14.46 and she followed that up with victory in the 100-yard IM, also etching her name in the record book with a time of 1:06.85!
