Karen Sue (Susie) Herr, 54, died at 12:20 a.m. on Aug. 1 at Richland Manor nursing home in Bluffton.

Susie was born on Dec. 11, 1960, in Bluffton, to Donald and Mary Ann (Basinger) Herr who survive. She is survived by her sister Terry Numbers of Ada and brothers Bob (Sharon) Herr of Cairo, Mardy (Lisa) Herr of Bluffton, Jim (Robin) Herr of Bluffton, and Jeremy (Tracie) Herr of McComb. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Almira M. (Moser) Downey, 85, died Tuesday, July 28, 2015, at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby, Ohio. She was born Oct. 11, 1929, in Beaverdam to the late Clair and Olof (Karrick) Moser.  On May 28, 1959, she married Russell E. Downey who preceded her in death on June 21, 1990.

Several Main Street buildings receive a touch up each summer. Here's a new coat of paint going onto the trim of the Forever in Stitches building at 120 N. Main St.

Bluffton council’s safety services committee discussed the College-Main intersection during a noon meeting on July 28.

The minutes reflect several points discussed. Those include:

• Greg Denecker, Bluffton school superintendent, agreed to place information in a letter to school-age parents regarding cross walk safety.

• Requested the superintendent to talk with teachers and bus drivers to raise awareness of cross walk safety.

• The village will provide safety coloring booklets to students in grades one, two and three.

It started out as a way to supplement the cost of college tuition. It did that and is now a successful and popular Bluffton Farmers’ Market vendor.

M and M Veggies, a Saturday morning farmers’ market fixture, is owned by brother and sister-team Mark and Meredith Bixel of rural Bluffton.

Mervin “Mike” Laudick, 91, of Spring City, Tenn., formerly of Delphos, died on Thursday July 30, 2015, at The Bridge at Rockwood in Rockwood, Tenn.

He was born June 19, 1924, at home in Delphos, to Alfred David and Adelyn Catherine (Reindel) Laudick. Who both preceded him in death. He married Patricia Adams on May 20, 1950; Patricia preceded him in death on April 28, 2003.
