Bluffton council will address the College Avenue-Main Street intersection on Monday.

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) removed the intersection’s traffic light when the streetscape program was created.  The stoplight’s absence has been a continual point of discussion from citizens and the village.

Bluffton resident Paula Scott is asking council to look into various options to create a safer intersection.

Council’s packet (an attachment at the bottom of this story) provides several pages of information and drawings pertaining to the intersection.

The Bluffton Area Ministerial Association and the Bluffton Area Community Assistance Program will again provide free school supplies to children who are on the free and/or reduced lunch program in the Bluffton school district.

The supplies will be provided from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 1, at St. John’s United Church of Christ.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to call the church to enroll your child in this program. Call 419-358-5641 for more information.

There's a new shirt in Bluffton and it's 45 years old.

Actually, it is in honor of the Bluffton Senior Citizens Association's 45th anniversary. The shirts are now at the Bluffton Senior Center, 132 N. Main St. The shirts are royal blue polos and are available in eight sizes: four for men and four for women.

Shirts are $16 each. The shirts have the Center logo and "45 years" embroidered on them.
