WESTFIELD, Ind. - The Bluffton University baseball team continued its winning ways with a pair of victories over rival Mennonite institution Goshen College on Sunday, March 15, 2015. The Beavers improved to 7-4 on the season following the wins at Greenfield, Ind., while Goshen fell to 2-10.
"Living and Learning in the Contact Zone” will be Kate Spike’s topic for Bluffton University’s Civic Engagement Forum on Tuesday, March 24, in Founders Hall. Her 11 a.m. presentation is free and open to the public.
Students in Bluffton University’s dietetics internship program will host a Wellness Fair from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 19, in the Sommer Center on campus.
The event is open to the public, with several optional health screenings—provided by Blanchard Valley Health System—and a number of informational sessions available. The only costs are $12 for a lipid profile and $8 for a cholesterol screening; both require an eight-hour fast beforehand, as does a free glucose screening. A bone density test is also free.
Bluffton school board will act on three spring supports supplemental coaching contracts on Monday.
Those contracts are for Clay Atkins, assistant baseball; Adam Burris, assistant softball and Deron Geiser, volunteer boys’ tennis.
Also on the agenda is the approval of six substitute teachers at $80 per day. They are Jennifer Mann, Carolyn Hensley, Mark Anderson, Julie Klingler, Michael Liles and Megan Byrne.

Beaverdam Contracting was scheduled to pressure test the newly installed on Garmatter MRCH 13 and are planning on performing the bacteriological testing this week week. Once the testing is successfully completed they will be able to connect services to the new water main.
Clay Wilson, Bluffton High School senior, will sign a letter of intent to pole vault for Marian University, Indianapolis, Ind. He will sign the letter on March 18 at Bluffton High School.
Next spring, Wilson will join Head Coach Michael Holman, in Indianapolis, after a distinguished athletic career at Bluffton High School.
In 2014, Wilson finished second at the Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division III regional track meet, jumping 14feet 4 inches.
Also, Wilson finished 3rd place at the OHSAA Division III state track meet, jumping 14-4.
