Everyone loves to take a dip in the pool, especially during the dog days of summer While swimming is a great way to play, exercise and cool off, there are certain things to keep in mind. More than 1,000 children die each year from drowning, and many others suffer life-changing injuries. Help protect your family by using the following safety tips when swimming in public pools.
Richard Arden Slotter, age 90, died on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, in his home at Wind Crest Retirement Community, Highlands Ranch, CO. He survived his sister Phyllis Yoder and is survived by his wife Joan (Gratz) Slotter of nearly 68 years and their three children, Susan Slotter of Santa Fe, NM, Sharon (Slotter) Gordon of Loveland, CO and Steven (Ann Rosewall) Slotter of Castle Pines, CO; two sisters, Margaret Groesbeck of Peterborough, NH and JoAnn Yukman of Medina, OH, his brother John Slotter of Old Chatham, NY; twin grandchildren, Geoffrey Gaspord of Chicago, IL and Bryan (Joelle) Gaspord
For the past 3 weeks, GROB Bluffton has hosted four apprentices from GROB Mindelheim as part of an annual Apprentice Exchange program.
German apprentices Lucas, Toby, Mike, and Tobi have spent time working in the Bluffton facility in their areas of specialty while also interacting with local apprentices.
We Care People is hosting Celebrate You 2022: For Mental Health Awareness, a free event on August 5 at Vibe Coffeehouse & Cafe, 311 E Market St., LIma. The adult-only event starts at 4:00 p.m.
The event will include performances by Mixed Vibes, Courtney Owens as MC, and expressive art from Artspace/Lima and Voices of Prosperity.
Taco Movil Lima and Aysha’s Subs & Burgers will be there along with other food trucks.
