A Celebration of Life for Doris E. Palte will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 beginning at 4:00 p.m. at her son, Steve Palte's residence, 7905 N. Phillips Road, Bluffton.

Doris passed away April 27, 2020. Arrangements were entrusted with Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Bluffton's newest business, Bluffton Lantern Nutrition, held its grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday. The business is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Watch the Icon for additional details coming soon. U.S. 30 west of the Interstate 75 interchange will have lane restrictions and road closures for a project to construct a Restricted Crossing U-Turn (RCUT) at Thayer Road, and cul-de-sacs at Cool Road and Mayberry Road.

Thayer Road, Mayberry Road, and Cool Road at U.S. 30 will close August 2 for approximately 45 days.

Upon completion of the project, access to U.S. 30 at Cool Road and the southern leg of Mayberry Road will be removed.

Alexandra Besecker of Bluffton, OH excelled during the Spring 2021 semester, achieving a GPA of at least 3.5 to earn a spot on the Dean's List.

The United Way of Greater Lima's second annual Week of Giving campaign is scheduled for July 25th – July 31st. The Week of Giving is a community-wide fundraiser to support many of the nonprofits that make a difference in our community each year.

For this year’s Week of Giving, the United Way is asking individuals to consider giving $21 in 2021 to help impact their favorite local non-profits.
