Donald W. Steiner 1928-2009
Donald W. Steiner, 81, of Bluffton, died at 1 p.m., Oct. 24, 2009, in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born April 15, 1928 to Clarence and Cora Rupp Steiner in rural Bluffton. On March 3, 1951, he married Eileen Gingerich and she survives.
Mr. Steiner was a farmer and retired from Cooper Tire and Rubber Co., Findlay. He was a minster at the Reformed Mennonite Church, Bluffton.
Survivors include Eileen, his wife, of Bluffton; and daughters Christine (James) Basinger, Pandora; Cathy (Donald) Flory, Pandora; Terri (George) Stechschulte, Pandora; and Rebecca (Douglas) Fowler, Bluffton.
Surviving grandchildren are Rae Stechschulte, Quinn Stechschulte, Dennis (Michelle) Fowler, Daniel (Thersa) Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Aaron Basinger, Melissa Basinger, Anthony Basinger, Bethany Fowler; Michael (Cheri) Flory; Kevin Flory and Christopher Flory.
Surviving great-grandson is Cota Sinclair.
One brother, Kenneth Steiner, of Bluffton, survives. Family members preceeding him in death were brothers, Harold, Evan and Ronald, and a grandson, Mark.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the Reformed Mennonite Church, Bluffton. James Basinger and Mark Bankert will officiate.
Visitation is Monday, Oct. 26, from 6-8p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton.
Burial is in Reformed Mennonite Cemetery, Bluffton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the Reformed Mennonite Cemetery Fund.
