Peanut brittle season underway
November is a busy month for the Bluffton Senior Citizens Center. Here is a list of several of the events:
o The Center will offer a free blood pressure clinic from 10 a.m. to noon, Wednesday, Nov. 4. A nurse from AmeriCare will assist in the clinic.
o At 6 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 3, is the first Tuesday Night Dance of the winter. Please note the time change: from 6 to 8 p.m. doors open at 5:30 p.m.
o The Center's annual Christmas garage sale is from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday, Nov. 6, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 7. Persons interested in donating items need to bring them to the Center by Thursday, Nov. 5.
o A bus trip with Bob and Bev is planned Nov. 27 to view the Archbold Parade of Lights. Tickets are $35 and are due by Nov. 9. The event includes a buffet meal at The Barn Restaurant and a view of the parade from inside Christy Motor's showroom.
o The Center will hold its annual Thanksgiving program on Wednesday, Nov. 25. The day will include crafts and quilting in the morning, the Thanksgiving potluck at noon and a program to follow.
o Peanut brittle will be made for four weeks in November. The first date is Monday, Nov. 2. The popular holiday candy will be on sale at the Center while the supply lasts.
o The Center will hold its Blaze of Lights meal, open to the public, starting at 4 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 28. The Center will be open all day for shopperss.
o The annual enrollment period for Medicare Part D is Nov. 15 through Dec. 31. Persons with questions may contact Bob Painter at the Center.
o Esther Neff is displaying her doll collection in the hobby center during November.
