Three McDonald's holiday tournaments

If you like basketball this is your weekend. It's a McDonald's Holiday Tournament Basketball weekend in Bluffton involving 12 games.

Two tournaments – men’s and women’s – take place at Bluffton University and a high school boys’ tournament is at Bluffton HS. Here’s the schedules:

At Sommer Center on the Bluffton Unversity campus

• WOMEN’S GAMES

Friday, Dec. 28
Noon – Wilmington vs. Wheaton
5 p.m. – Waynesburg vs. Bluffton

Painter of Pandora, served as assistant director of the center for the past 15 years. Over 65 persons attended the event. Persons are invited to go to the center and put their name on pieces of a signature quilt that will be given to Bob.

Register now for the 2019 arts and crafts show - and save some money

It's not to early to start thinking about the 2019 Bluffton Arts and Crafts Show. The 2019 event is from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 11. The Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce announces booth fees at a reduced rate, if you register early, says Paula Scott, chabmer CEO.

Just for the month - or just for the fun of it

Dwain Leiber came out of retirement in December – just for the month – or maybe, just for the fun of it.

Tom Dotson, who purchased Leiber Garage, 130 Vance St., from Duane in 2017, needed experienced help this month and he knew where to turn.

During December, the garage offers an $18.95 oil change special, and, well, the phone went off the hook with appointment requests.

So, Dwain returned and as of the morning of Dec. 26 he has already changed oil on 140 vehicles.
