Mike Hawk of Grob visits with students on Tuesday

Bluffton High School juniors and seniors interested in an apprenticeship program at Grob Systems of Bluffton have the opportunity to learn about it on Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Mike Hawk of Grob will visit BHS and explain the program.

According to Grob's website, its apprenticeship program allows students to learn in a hands-on environment.

Each student rotates through the various manufacturing and assembly areas of GROB’s production facility while also attending Rhodes State College.

It's all revealed on Saturday afternoon in Sommer Center

Who's in the suit?

On Saturday Jan. 28, between the women’s and men’s games against Rose-Hulman, Bluffton University will reveal which students are in the J. Denny and Jenny Beaver suits.

The women’s game starts at 1 p.m. in the Sommer Center.

Throughout the year, the two mascots can be found at admissions, advancement and community events. They also routinely cheer on athletes at sporting events.

Annual Hot Tea Tuesdays are underway in January and continue through February at the Bluffton Public Library. Come in from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and warm up with a free cup of hot tea and a cookie, or two. Sip and peruse the library’s collection of books, DVDs, music, audiobooks, magazines, children's kits, and more.

Ruth Wildermuth, 91, died Jan. 23, 2017 at Richland Manor, Bluffton.  Arrangements are incomplete at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.

Helen May Winkler, 90, died Jan. 22, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton.  Helen was born May 18, 1926, in New Stark to the late Elmer and Mary (Richards) Agin.  On June 21, 1947, she married Kenneth Winkler who preceded her in death on April 20, 1988.

Helen was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary at Superior Coach in Lima.  She was a member of First Mennonite Church, Bluffton.  Helen was a member of GAB and Century Circle.  She enjoyed crafting, floral arranging, reading and talking and spending time with family and friends.  Helen graduated from Ada High School.

Judith Greavu won first place in the "plants" category in the ArtSpace/Lima annual photography club's juried exhibit.

Here photo is titled "Dried Kelp." The exhibit is at ArtSpace now through Feb. 11.

Greavu taught at Bluffton University and retired from Ohio Northern University where she was associate professor in the department of art & design from 1985–2005.
