At first glance you see two deer in the Gratz field west of Bluffton on Columbus Grove Road. Look at the additional photos. See if you can find deer number 3 and 4. Look closely at the bottom photo. One deer from the field enters the woods. Two other deer are already in the woods.

And the high reaching made it all the way to 14

January temperatures arrived, and they are not kind.

According to Guy Verhoff, Pandora weather observer, here's what the new year brought, temperature wise last week:

Jan 5 - high 17; low 2
Jan. 6 - high 12; low 0
Jan. 7 - high 13; low -3
Jan. 8 - high 19; low 5
Jan. 9 - high 31; low 10

Level 1 snow and ice covered roads

Bluffton police have issued the following winter weather advisory -

Level 1 Advisory- Tuesday, Jan. 10, snow or ice covered roadways. Wind Advisory in afternoon and evening hours likely 45 miles per hour gusts.

On Jan. 28, between the women’s and men’s games against Rose-Hulman, Bluffton University will reveal which students are in the J. Denny and Jenny Beaver suits. The women’s game starts at 1 p.m. in the Sommer Center 

Dr. J. Alexander Sider, associate professor of religion and Harry and Jean Yoder Scholar in Bible and Religion, will present the Colloquium, “If 'God Obviously Makes No Difference to the Universe,' then ‘What Is the Point of Being a Christian?’” on Jan. 27. 

The title of the presentation combines quotes from two Dominican theologians, Herbert McCabe and Timothy Radcliffe, both who have affected Sider’s thinking on the relationship between God and the world. 

His presentation is free and open to the public beginning at 4 p.m. in Centennial Hall’s Stutzman Lecture Hall.
