Bluffton hosts Miller City (2-0) in a non-league play, Saturday, Aug. 23.

BLUFFTON - The Bluffton High School volleyball team earned its first win of the season with a sweep of visiting non-league local rival Pandora-Gilboa on Wednesday, August 20.

The Pirate girls beat the Rockets 25-16, 25-23, 25-17.

Bluffton improved to 1-2 with the home victory. P-G fell to 1-1 after the defeat.

OTTAWA__The Bluffton High School boys golf team lost a triangular non-league match at Pike Run Golf Club in Ottawa on Wednesday, August 20.

Bluffton fell to 6-3 after the results.

Delphos St. John’s won with 156 strokes, followed by Leipsic (161) and the Pirates (173).

Grady Coonfare carded the best Bluffton round with a nine-hole score of 41.

For those who need a reason to look forward to fall: Suter Produce has announced that Saturday, September 13 is opening day for the Corn Maze at 4678 Road R, Pandora, Ohio. The 2025 maze has a creative arts theme that is best appreciated from an aerial view.

The Village of Beaverdam Council has announced three upcoming committee meetings:

Finance Committee -  Thursday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m.
Safety-Trees Committee -  Thursday, August 21 at 7:30 p.m.
Utility Committee - Tuesday, September 2 at 6:30 p.m.

In 1970, Gordon Lightfoot released his chart topping gold record If You Could Read My Mind. Lightfoot was a prolific singer-songwriter with many major accomplishments in the music industry. Besides being honored on a Canadian stamp, Lightfoot was in the opening ceremonies for the 1988 Winter Olympics in Calgary, Canada. Bob Dylan praised Lightfoot for his ability to write beautiful lyrics.

Bluffton Cars & Coffee will hold its monthly event on Saturday August 23 from 8:00-11:00 a.m. at 902 N. Main St. 

In addition to providing display space for car, vehicle and motorcycle enthusiasts, Twisted Whisk is back with coffee and donuts. Door prizes are provided by local businesses and there is a 50/50 drawing.
