Jerry L. Amstutz, 75, died April 30, 2018, at Lima Memorial Health System. Jerry was born Feb. 11, 1943 in Lima to the late Oliver and Clara (Wilson) Amstutz.  On June 30, 1962, he married Shirley Staley Amstutz who survives.

Jerry graduated from Lafayette-Jackson High School. He was a special deputy with the Allen County Sheriff's Office and also worked security at Lima Memorial Hospital. Jerry was a member of Bethel Church of Christ near Ada.

A memorial service will be held May 11 at 1 p.m. at Bluffton Presbyterian Church to celebrate the lives of Dale and Carolyn Dickey, formerly of Bluffton. Dale Dickey passed away February 24, 2018. Carolyn passed away February 24, 2013. Friends of Dale and Kerry are invited to visit with family members at the church from noon-1 p.m. or after the service.

Apollo Career Center's Floral Shop will begin its annual flower sale Tuesday, May 8, and run through Friday, May 11. The shop will be open daily 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 12:30-2 p.m. The greenhouses are full of annuals, perennials, and hanging baskets, and the shop has a large assortment of silk arrangements and collectibles just in time for Mothers' Day.

Apollo is located at 3325 Shawnee Road, Lima.

Britney Essinger, a Bluffton High School senior, is the Icon's artist of the month.

She has taken Photography 1, Art 1 and Advanced Photography, according to Vickie Garmon, BHS art teacher.

Following graduation Britney plans to attend Bowling Green State University to study Early Childhood Education.
