While several significant topics crossed Bluffton council’s Monday night agenda, Shannon Cemetery consumed one hour of the agenda with several comments from visitors taking both sides of the issue.
Ray Mumma formerly of Bluffton told council members that he had several objections to the cemetery improvement plan.
He asked council to explore obtaining a ground penetrating radar (GPR) to find the graves at the cemetery.
“We think there needs to be more research done to restore this cemetery,” he said.
I caught Noah a few weeks after he raced in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics’ track and field nationals. We spent some time predicting the future and remembering the past.

I attend Indiana Wesleyan University (IWU) in Marion, Indiana. I am a double major in Business Marketing and Management.

Two incoming students at Bluffton University have been awarded the university’s full-tuition Presidential Scholarship, valued at more than $110,000 for four years.
Katelyn Amstutz of Dalton, Ohio, and Edwin Martin of Goshen, Ind., are the scholarship recipients.
Amstutz, the daughter of Michael and Lisa Amstutz, was homeschooled, graduating this year. She has been active in tennis, the Heartland String Quartet and Science Olympiad. She attends Sonnenberg Mennonite Church, near Dalton.
