Apollo Career Center's board will meet at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, in the board meeting room. Brad Fruchey is Bluffton's representative on the board. The board agenda is in an attachment at the bottom of this story.

There was a full house at last week's Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting in the town hall. Sodexo Dining Service catered the breakfast, which was sponsored by Family Eye Care. The next chamber breakfast is Friday, March 11.

Bluffton school board will act on Allen County Budget Commission’s recommendation on county estimated tax rates during its Feb. 18 meeting.
 
A chart at the bottom of this story shows a summary of the Bluffton school district’s estimated tax rates. The chart demonstrates how the district generates approximately $4 million through millage outside its 10-mill limitation and nearly $1 million inside.

The Ada Area Chamber of Commerce named the Ada Icon as its 2016 Outstanding Business/Industry of the Year at the chamber’s Feb. 17, annual dinner meeting. Ada Icon is the sister publication of Bluffton Icon.

Deb Curlis, chamber president presented the award to Icon owners Fred and Mary Steiner, during the dinner at McIntosh Center on the ONU campus.

The Icon also received a certificate of commendation from the Ohio Secretary of State’s office area representative, Brian Bauman.
