Bluffton Family Recreation isn't just for youth. The fall fitness class schedule for adults is now available, according to Joseph Beagle, BFR director.

Class opportunities range from all-star workouts, water exercise, Aqua Zumba, cardio and strength building, SilverSneakers, yoga, to strength and flexibility.

Classes are offered at various times Mondays through Fridays.

Douglas Lee Steinman, 52, of Lima and formerly of Gilboa died Aug. 24, 2015 at his residence.  Douglas was born June 4, 1963, in Bluffton to the late Jerry and Margie Eck Steinman. 

Douglas worked at Dana Corp., Lima.  He was a graduate of Pandora-Gilboa High School and Bowling Green State University with a degree in Manufacturing Design and Robotics. 

He was a member of Gilboa United Methodist Church.   

Brauen's Gourds, 7140 Tom Fett Road, Bluffton, will hold their annual fall open house in early September.

Hours are:
• Saturday, Sept. 5 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sunday, Sept.6 - 1 to 4 p.m.

The gourds are created by Don and Jodi Brauen.

Community Health Professionals, Ada, and Liberty National Bank, Ada, will hold a free "lunch and learn" program from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 17, at the CHP building, 1200 S. Main St., Ada.

Elder abuse is the topic of the program. Jayme Richards, executive director of the Ohio Coalition for Adult Protective Services, Columbus, is the speaker.

The program is free. Participants will receive a box lunch courtesy of Liberty National Bank. Donations are welcome and will go toward CHP hospice patient care fund.

The 2015 Bluffton football season is set to kickoff Friday evening and the Pirates are ready to get back into action.  

Bluffton is under the direction of Coach Kyle Cutnaw who returns for his second year at the helm of the program. 42 players dot the roster and the Pirates will compete in Division VI, Region  20. 

The team has had successful scrimmages with Arlington, Marion Local and Pandora-Gilboa in addition to winning the Liberty Benton 7 on 7 tournament earlier this summer. 

The September, October and November Bluffton Family Recreation newsletter is now on the Icon.

The newsletter lists programs from youth through adults. In addition, indoor soccer information is included, as well as membership prices.
