Parkins and Schmutz hit 22 points each as the Bluffton High School girls' basketball topped Lima Central Catholic 66 to 63 in overtiime tonight at BHS.

 

Stan Clemens and Mark Weidner will speak on their trip to the Antartica at the Tuesday, Jan. 6, noon meeting of the Bluffton Lions Club.

Details on that meeting and several other activites of the Lions is in the newsletter, which is an attachment at the bottom of this story.

Erica Sheehan is the December Bluffton High School student of the month. She is the daughter of Mike and Sue Sheehan of Bluffton.

Erica is a senior at Bluffton High School and has a 4.000 GPA.

She is involved in Latin Club, Art Club, Math Club, Drama Club, National Honor Society, SADD (Student's Against Destructive Decisions); Domestication Club, NLSH, and also tutors. She attends Ebenezer Mennonite Church and is involved in the youth group. She also finds time to volunteer at St. Rita's.

This year’s inductees into the Bluffton University Athletics Hall of Fame represent six sports over a recent 20-year span.

John Murray, elder at Maple Crest Senior Living Community, told Bluffton fourth graders about his life-long challenge with cerebral palsy, during a special program earlier this week.

Murray was interviewed by Louise Matthews, director of “The Lion and Lamb Peace Arts Center” of Bluffton University. The session as part of an on-going program with Bluffton fourth graders that emphasizes kindness and respect towards all people. 

The event was hosted at Maple Crest.
