Calico Skies, a two-piece, guitar-and-violin duo based out of Findlay, Will perform from 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at theNluffton town hall.
The duo plays Celtic, folk, rock, pop, and country music, including songs from artists such as Cat Stevens, Electric Light Orchestra, The Rolling Stones, and the Moody Blues.
The concert will be on the third floor, which is handicap accessible. The public is welcome to attend and will be asked to share a donation for the musicians.
Bluffton's Andie Schmutz, a sophomore, was named to the second team, all-Northwest Conference in volleyball. Lauren Parkins and Sidney Joseph were named honorable mention.
Crestview senior Courtney Trigg was voted the 2014 Northwest Conference “Player of The Year.” Trigg had also earned first team honors in last year's balloting. Tammy Gregory of Crestview was voted NWC Coach of the Year by her peers.
Taking place simultaneously at the dawn of human history, in the 20th century and at the end of the world—complete with talking dinosaurs—Bluffton University’s fall play is zany to say the least. But by refusing to obey the rules of time, “The Skin of Our Teeth” serves as an allegory to the human condition that remains relevant in 2014.
While the plot may seem nonsensical, its messages are clear, says Dr. Melissa Friesen, professor of theatre and communication at Bluffton and director of the play.
Todd Basinger and Ryan Studabaker each bowled 287 games last week at Southgate Lanes. They tied for men's high game scores. Meanwhile Brian Huether had the men's high series at 747.
Ruth Everett's 238 was the high woman's game score and Onalee Shepler's 635 was the high woman's series.

Despite the dreary, cold weather on Saturday, Oct. 18, the Bluffton Pirate girls' and boys' cross country teams performed well.

The meet took place at Ottawa Park. Jacob Barnett was the lone regional qualifier for the boys’ team. The girls’ team captured 4th place, moving them on to the regional tournament at Tiffin on Oct. 25.
