Bryan Moore was recently named the offensive coordinator at Bluffton University after a highly-successful six-year stint at Heidelberg University where he served as the special teams coordinator and wide receivers coach. He will handle the play-calling duties for an offense that returns senior wide receiver Donovan Brown who set a Bluffton single-season record with 10 touchdown grabs last season.
This question may apply to the current Bluffton council and mayoral situation. Given the potential resignation on June 2 of Dennis Gallant, Bluffton mayor, a complex set of circumstances will take place. These circumstances affect the make up of Bluffton council and the potential for persons to seek future seats on council and as mayor.
Stephen Chamberlain, Bluffton village solicitor, addressed this issue at the May 19 council session.
In voting by Northwest Conference baseball coaches for the 2014 baseball season. senior Damian Helm, a pitcher/first baseman from Crestview was named Player of the Year. This follows Helm's selection as player of the year in basketball and receiving co-player of the year honors last year in baseball. Helm was a near unanimous selection receiving 159 out of a possible 160 points in the balloting.
In voting by Northwest Conference softball coaches for the 2014 baseball season. senior Kirstin Hicks, a pitcher/first/third baseman from Crestview was named Player of the Year after being runner-up for that honor during the 2013 season. In a close vote, Helm edged out junior Hope Schroeder of Columbus Grove by 3 points with senior Erin Conkle of Allen East finishing another 4 points back.
