A fund-raiser to support the coast-to-coast baseball opportunity for Zak Kulhman and Christopher McClain is planned with registration starting at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Beaverdam village park.

The event is a cruise-in acceping all makes and models of vehicles. There is a $10 entry for vehicle owners.

Other events taking place food and drinks available and a 50-50 drawing. Awards will be presented for a people's choice, best truck, best car, best motorcycle.

Dennis E. Kimmet, owner/broker of Kimmet Realty, LLC, Pandora, returned recently from St. Louis. Mo., having successfully completed a course in personal property appraisal at the Certified Appraisers Guild of America.

Kimmet was among many persons from the United States and Canada who completed the course.

The Bluffton Schools will hold a district-wide open house on Monday evening, Sept. 30.  The elementary school will be open from 6 – 7 p.m., the middle school from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., and the high school from 7 – 8 p.m.

Several community organizations will have booths set-up in the elementary gymnasium and information will be available on ways to provide support to the school and community.

South Bentley Road beyond the Bluffton Stone Co., will be closed all next week for culvert repair. No through traffic will be permitted.

llen County Engineer employees will be replacing the culvert located just south of the stone quarry on Bentley Road. The road will be blocked and no traffic will be able to get through. Vehicles will be able to exit / enter I-75 at Bentley Road without problem.

The work is anticipated to take one week.

UPDATE:

Thanks to our two viewer comments, we've re-thought this photo. We believe it is the Interstate 75 overpass over the abandoned AC&Y Railroad, east of Bluffton.

The northbound bridge is completed and, actually traffic is one-way on that bridge, while the southbound bridge is still under completion in this photo.
