Jocelyn Urbanczke peeks over her Valentine's mail box at the Bluffton Child Development Center. Jocelyn, in the pre-kindergarten class, made her Valentine boxe on Feb. 14 at the Center to celebrate the day. She is the daughter of Sara and Justin Urbanczke of Bluffton.
Pandora native Fred Suter will is a guest speaker at Grace Mennonite Church, Pandora, on Sunday, Feb. 24. He will speak at a 6:30 p.m. program.
Suter is a former Mennonite Central Committee volunteer with the PAX program. He will talk about his work with getting fresh clean water to a hospital at the former African Inter-Mennonite Mission station of Ndjoko Pundo in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Bluffton University women’s basketball team was able to earn revenge against their arch-rivals on Wednesday, Feb. 13. The Beavers were defeated 54-32 in Defiance in their first meeting against the Yellow Jackets back on January 2.
However, Bluffton was able to turn the tables and defeat Defiance, 62-47, in a game they never trailed in the Sommer Center on Wednesday night. Bluffton also honored its lone senior, Lauren Hutton (New Riegel), on Senior Night prior to the contest.

Jim Alt will celebrate his 90th birthday on Feb. 15. He and his wife, Ursula, are parents of Kathy (Chuck) Sehlhorst, Beth (Jim) Yarger, Jeff (Deb) Alt, Jerry (Sheila) Alt, Joe (Tina) Alt, and Jenny (Jason) Swartzlander Jim as 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
