A rose petal necklace is on exhibit in the Bluffton Public Library display case this month. The case exhibits various herbs and their uses, including jewelry.
Bluffton's shuffleboard court will be busy this summer. Morris Groman of the local club provided The Icon with the schedule of tournaments. Those follow:
• May 30-31-June 1: Mildred and Clarence Brunn Doubles - open to any doubles team • June 6-7-8: North American Singles - open to men and women, singles play • July 11-12-13: Crowe Memorial Doubles - open to any doubles team • Aug. 15-16-17: Bluffton Doubles - open to any doubles team
The Bluffton Exempted Village Board of Education has set a special board meeting for Thursday, May 23, at 7 p.m. in the Superintendent’s Office to interview middle school principal candidates.
Two members of the Bluffton Lions Club were honored recently. The Melvin Jones Fellowships were presented to Robert Barnett and Gene Long at the May 7 club meeting.
This is the highest award that a Lion can receive and is presented as recognition of humanitarian work done. Barnett recently received recognition as a 50 year member. Long has been a Lion since 1976.
