Pastor Al Schmitzer will lead a special Thanksgiving service at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 301 North Main Street, Jenera, on Thursday, Nov. 22, at 9:30 a.m. The choir will sing "A Psalm of Praise" and the church will be decorated with harvest items.
The Blaze of Lights is more than just a one-day event. In addition to the events taking place on Nov. 24, it includes these elements that continue nightly through Jan. 1:
• the Ream folk art holiday display
• the Gift of Giving light show extravaganza
• Bluffton Main Street business district Christmas window displays
• a tour of Bluffton’s residential yard lighting
Maurice Murray from Kingston, Washington, formerly from Ada, died on Nov.10, 2012. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, daughters Shawn and Leesa, grandson, Tyler, stepchildren Ralph and Mary Gorichanaz, sisters, Jeanette (Max) Miller, and Marilyn (Howard) Shelly. Brothers Roger and Scott are both deceased.
Bluffton artist, Beverly Amstutz, has created her 2012 Bluffton Blaze of Lights card and it is now available for sale downtown.
The card depicts a Victorian family of carolers. The card is based on this year's Blaze theme, which is "A Victorian Christmas." This is Amstutz's 12 annual Blaze card.
The cards are available at Greg's Pharmacy, 126 N. Main St., for 60 cents each.
Town and Country Flowers, 121 S. Main St., Bluffton has a Winter Wonderland in its shop and all Icon viewers are invited to stop in and see it, according to Connie Kruse of the store.
"Come in a see our Christmas Wonderland. We have silk arrangements, wreaths, swags, jewelry, scarfs, candles, great gift ideams, home decor and much more," she said.
